Funk master Dewayne "Blackbyrd" McKnight has partnered up with Ray Freeman Jr and his Raethoven Agency. They are in the early planning stages of putting the 30 year Parliament Funkadelic veteran on the road showcasing material from his long awaited solo release titled “Bout Funkin’ Time”. Blackbyrd claims to be talking to some notable artists in the industry to join him in the “Blackbyrd” fold. Members of Living Colour, James Brown and the P Funk Allstars have been mentioned but no solid conformations have been released to date. Rumor has it that the South Bronx New York funksters 24-7 Spyz may be entertaining the thought of a double bill in some regions of the country along with calls coming in from folks connected to the Public Enemy camp. At this point it’s all hype but what is very clear and concrete is that “Blackbyrd” will tour with his solo project in the year 2012.
