30 year Parliament Funkadelic vet Blackbyrd McKnight planning solo tour

Funk master Dewayne "Blackbyrd" McKnight has partnered up with Ray Freeman Jr and his  Raethoven Agency. They are in the early planning stages of putting the 30 year Parliament Funkadelic veteran on the road showcasing material from his long awaited solo release titled “Bout Funkin’ Time”.  Blackbyrd claims to be talking to some notable artists in the industry to join him in the “Blackbyrd” fold. Members of Living Colour, James Brown and the P Funk Allstars have been mentioned but no solid conformations have been released to date. Rumor has it that the South Bronx New York funksters 24-7 Spyz may be entertaining the thought of a double bill in some regions of the country along with calls coming in from folks connected to the Public Enemy camp. At this point it’s all hype but what is very clear and concrete is that “Blackbyrd” will tour with his solo project in the year 2012. You can check out what’s going on with the grand master of funk at www.blackbyrdmcnight.net or download his latest at http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/bout-funkin-time/id344977562

Pants Down for Morning Algebra

Schaumburg Christian School Teacher Accused of Masturbating During Class

LaDuke allegedly fantasized about students

Schaumburg, Ill. - A northwest suburban math teacher charged with masturbating in his classroom allegedly told police he’d pleasured himself at the school for last 10 years while fantasizing about female students.
Paul A. LaDuke, 75, of Schererville made the handwritten admission after he was arrested for a Veteran’s Day incident witnessed by two students at the Schaumburg Christian School, according to Tandra Simonton, spokeswoman for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
While his students were working on an assignment during a 10 a.m. algebra class Friday, LaDuke placed an apron around his waist, unbuckled his pants below his hips and began masturbating behind a podium, prosecutors allege.
One of the students who saw LaDuke’s alleged lewd behavior notified another teacher. That teacher contacted school administrators, which led to an investigation that resulted in LaDuke’s firing Friday afternoon, police said.
Of the 13 students in LaDuke’s morning class Friday, 9 were 16 years old and four were 17, Simonton said
LaDuke, during a bond hearing in Rolling Meadows Wednesday morning, was ordered held on $40,000 bond, charged with sexual exploitation of a child.
LaDuke, of Hanover Park, had been teaching at Schaumburg Christian School for the last 26 years, Simonton said.
While there is no evidence that any students were inappropriately touched or physically harmed, any current or former students who may have information are asked to call police at (847) 882-3534.

Slipknot/ Stone Sour front man revs it up and brings it to New York, New York.

Monday December 5th marks the date that frontman singer song writer Corey Taylor brings his music to NYC. The setting will be at New York’s Highline Ballroom. Tickets are moving quickly on this rare intimate evening so get them before your locked out and shut down. The Highline is located in Manhattan on West 16th Street between 9th and 10th Ave right across the street from the DEA, FBI and Federal Marshall building. There’s not much street parking available but oddly enough the NYPD has instructed towing enforcement to stay away from the Street and or tow everything that’s not official. No standing anytime does not apply to the feds as crew is always lifting gear over there vehicles.  So for those of you that plan on indulging in extracurricular festive activities I would head down the block and around the corner where you can also find $16 parking for up to 4 hours.

Looking back but moving on....

2 years ago today I got back together with an ex girlfriend who I thought may have been my soul mate. Un aware of the fate that awaited I dove in head first to what was at that time a wonderful feeling of hope, excitement and a new start with someone who understood me and could deal with my career. Everything fell in to place and was nothing short of surreal. We had the dogs, got the house and started to grow together as one. Not well liked by the friends her and the x husband shared I forged forward and dealt with the whispers and LA type fakeness of her cult like friends always reminding her that these would be the people that would be the end of us. Just short of a year and not long after going through my saving putting our life together and relocating us I got on a plane to Europe to pay the bills and take care of our little family. I came home to one of the most devastating moments of my life next to losing my mother.  Another man in my bed, his pay stub in my truck and a 8 day temporary restraining order to get me out of my home out of guilt of what they did. Dark days soon came after. Rebuilding, being harassed and wrongfully accused of things I did not do again out of guilt of something they did. I can’t help but look back and remember text messages reading never doubt my love for you while at the same time she was neck deep in sin with another man. They say you have to go through things in life to get to where you are suppose to be as one door closes and another one opens. In this case it was a trap door and I fell hard, right through it. The past 2 years has brought many victory’s and a few not so good scenarios due to the constant prying and finger poking of a certain individual again based on guilt and fully adamant on convincing themselves that It was me and not them. The writing is still on the wall and they are still waking up and going to sleep with a pill and bottle of wine. Sad that someone with the intelligence she posses can live in denial of the horrible person she actually is and be fully aware of the amazing person she could have been. All this being said I have grown and come farther in two years then they have in their entire life. Thanks for the lesson in life as it has made me even stronger and all the more wiser of the black heart and non attractive soul. Karma has a list and you’re a VIP. In short…..trust nobody and love is blind. Life is good again.

Tony Williams Lifetime Tribute - Vernon Reid, Jack Bruce, John Medeski and Cindy Blackman

Here we see Jack Bruce again playing bass on the tune forty years later with a different lineup. This show is on the road and promises to floor audiences who will be treated to a somewhat lesser known side of Jack Bruce’s stylistic interests. His time playing with Tony Williams was short lived but, according to his recently published biography, Tony and Jack connected on a personal and musical level that was the basis of a deep friendship despite their professional affiliation being relatively brief.
“Vuelta Abajo” is a hard driving tune that features a relentless – almost pounding – theme which is an exceptional vehicle to showcase Jack’s bass playing. Check out this version and then listen to the version on Turn It Over and see how the different line ups interpret this classic hard edged gem from the dawn of the era where jazz and rock were being fused in the hands of the masters.

The Tony Williams Lifetime Tribute Band featuring Jack Bruce, Vernon Reid, John Medeski and Cindy Blackman will be touring in June 2012:
